di Suvero Exhibition (Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park)
Documentary
Here’s a little known fact: world-renowned, sculptor, Mark di Suvero established some of his earliest artistic roots here in Grand Rapids back in 1977 with his piece on Calder Plaza entitled Motu Viget.
In 2002, the beloved artist returned to the area to install an exhibit at the Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park which included two of his best known works, Iroquois and Johnny Appleseed.
This piece captures not only the dramatic installation of these multi-story steel sculptures but we also get a glimpse into di Suvero’s creative sole in a rare interview granted by the artist himself.
